“I am 36, a mother of two and an entrepreneur. I founded my organization to create a support system around talented women professionals who wanted to return to their careers after a break. I, too, have seen several ups and downs while trying to set up a successful career.
My husband’s job demanded constant travel, which led to me quitting my job and travelling with him. People say that travel is a transformative experience, and I believe this firmly. We lived in Dubai, Singapore, and the UK, and travelled through Spain, France, and Switzerland. After living and working in various countries, I developed adaptability, broader perspectives, new ideas and empathy. It was my working years in the UK that ignited the entrepreneur in me. I worked in the UK for a couple of years. Later, I had my first child and the inevitable break happened. We had limited support in the UK and I took the next two years off from corporate life.
I co-founded an edutech company in the UK. Soon, my family had to move to India, but I continued to manage the company operations remotely. Then, I had my second child, but this time my maternity break lasted only four months.
I was working from home and was lucky to have great support at home – my husband, kids, we work as a team! But let us be honest. How many of us are able to find that perfect balance? This got me thinking and prompted me to move to a less demanding role with the UK business.
I started by conducting online surveys and figured out that a large number of women that face challenges with planning, changing, restarting, or even progressing in their careers. The organization was formed with the vision of putting together a supportive platform for women professionals. This platform helps professionals returning to the workforce by helping them acquire new skills and ensuring their return to the workforce is smooth and sustainable.”
