"I've always loved dancing and my biggest struggle has been to learn classical dance. While growing up I wasn't as good with my studies, so my parents placed a condition on me that only if I got good marks in my 10th standard board exams can I continue to dance. That really pushed me to work harder, study longer and give it my all. Somehow I managed to get a good percentage and my parents allowed me to pursue dancing.
Once I got into college, I found that the dance form I'm most passionate about is slowly losing value. People today are only interested in Bollywood or Hip Hop but I love the classic dance form -- it has so much culture and sentiment attached to it. I've tried to participate in college events but because i'm still a learner and that to a classical dance learner, I haven't been given the opportunity. I'm not disappointed though, I will keep pushing until it happens and until I make it big. I only hope that I'm not asked to give up my dance again when another set of exams are around the corner. I know how important education is -- but dance is everything to me...I live for it. At this point it's all very confusing...should I focus on my education and pursue dance later, or should I do both simultaneously and keep at it?"
